Careers education is a central part of our work. In preparing our young people for life, from the time they begin their education at Alec Reed Academy, they are offered a variety of opportunities and experiences from the ‘world of work’. We work closely with the REED Network to identify placements for a wide number of students as well as access to further education and Apprenticeships.

The Academy employs its own dedicated Careers Leader, Connexions Careers Advisor, and also has a permanent base in the Academy to provide information and advice to enhance the extensive Careers and Work Related Learning programme. We are fully committed to being an Investor in Careers Academy. We are working towards the Reaccreditation of QICS award, which showcases the Academy’s commitment to developing students' futures by providing various opportunities to encounter and visit employers to shape their future careers.

Academy Reaccreditation 

I am writing to inform you that Alec Reed Academy is going through reaccreditation of the Quality in Careers Award. I wanted to share this information with you as have been an incredible support to the Academy in engaging with our students and providing meaningful encounters over the last few years. We would like to see this partnership continue and flourish in the future. I will send the future dates and the times for the next events in the Autumn Term.
