France 2026
On Monday our pupils returned from another French Cross Curricular Residential in the north of France, a trip packed with discovery and a whole lot of laughter. One of the highlights was our guided visit to NotreDame Cathedral, where pupils stood in awe beneath the newly restored stonework and learned about the incredible craftsmanship behind one of Europe's most iconic landmarks.
From there, we swapped the finest French gothic architecture for goats: at a charming goat farm, our pupils fed the animals, stroke cats and rabbits and learned how the farm operates and even tried fresh goat's cheese. The farmer was genuinely impressed by our pupils' curiosity and kindness.
Our home for our stay was a set of ecopods nestled in the grounds of a château, where evenings were filled with plays, team games, campfires, marshmallows, learning and bonding.
Our sporting fans were thrilled by our guided tour of the Stade de France. They explored the players' tunnel, the pitch side views and even discovered the stadium's unexpected hidden feature which was its own small prison. That revelation caused quite a stir, more so when the guide told them to not lock the door when inside as he did not have the keys!
And of course, no French adventure would be complete without a culinary challenge. On our final night, many pupils bravely tried escargot and frogs' legs. They were so enthusiastic that the château's animators had their own cards stamped, a reward the chef gives them when a group eats everything they offer.
