On Monday, the 15th of September, Ms. Madani organised for key stage four and five students to take part in a surgical skills taster workshop at the Hunterian Museum in Holborn.
Students aspiring to careers in the science world received a hands-on workshop in which they learned about careers in surgery. They were shown how to glove up and gown up, as if they were about to perform a surgery. The experts were teaching students how to perform a surgical knot and practising basic suturing skills. The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, during which a range of effective questions were asked by the students, impressing the retired surgeons who hosted the workshop. A massive thank you to the Hunterian Museum for hosting the Academy, and a well done to the students who attended and represented the Academy.
